Wellness: Water Utilities May Need to Consider Rehabilitation Options for Cost-Effective Operations

West Yost presents Groundwater Wellness, a seminar on monitoring and improving groundwater systems

Groundwater Wellness Seminar
.

West Yost is offering new expertise, services, and educational opportunities to clients who want to understand and improve the performance and lifecycle costs of groundwater production and recharge facilities. Tom Morris, one of West Yost’s newest geologists and a national expert in aquifer storage and recovery, adds to West Yost’s unique tools and proven techniques for groundwater wellness programs and well rehabilitation.

In June 2018, Groundwater Wellness: Monitoring and Improving Municipal Well Performance joined our list of available technical workshops for clients. This workshop presents the rehabilitation techniques and groundwater wellness programs pioneered by Tom Morris. Tom explains how the Radial Injection Surge Development methods he developed restore well performance. He demonstrates how a pump bowl performance tracking program is an excellent predictive maintenance tool for water supply wells. The convenient tracking program, developed by Tom, provides information on the state of wear, the percent of performance loss, and the increased costs of operation. The program can be used at the well-head by operations staff and calculates the optimal state of pump bowl wear to economically schedule maintenance of the pumping equipment.
