Giving Back for our 30th Anniversary
West Yost kicked off our 30th anniversary in June, 2020! As we celebrate this important milestone anniversary, we are continuing to pursue our purpose: Advancing water resources for future generations by supporting our communities. Due to two historical disasters 2020 is a year of great significance for us all. The 2020 wildfire season and COVID-19 have inspired us to provide resources to organizations dedicated to creating greater resiliency and providing educational opportunities in areas relevant to our field: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Our talented professionals bring with them diverse experiences and backgrounds which makes us West Yost! We support the future of an accessible STEM education we believe that this will build a stronger future for all of us.
MESA, (Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Achievement) Arizona, California, and Oregon
MESA was recommended by West Yost’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) group. Their focus is K-16 students, aimed at college and career prep for individuals with diverse obstacles and backgrounds.
Square Root Academy
Square Root Academy is a STEM based non-profit organization dedicated to educating underrepresented youth on the fundamental of STEM while emphasizing collaborative learning, innovation, and academic excellence. The program is offered at no cost to students.
West Yost has identified two areas of great need during 2020 and going into 2021, resiliency during and after wildfires and availability or ability of food for those who have suffered job or other losses during the current COVID-19 pandemic. We have identified the following organizations that are making a great impact supporting our neighbors:
Supporting Local Food Banks
West Yost has supported over 30 food banks throughout Arizona, California, and Oregon. Additionally, our Wellness Group initiated a West Yost team fundraiser with Feeding America where West Yost committed to a dollar to dollar match. Together with our support, we have provided over 70,000 meals to those in need.
