Lower Alameda Creek Fish Passage Program
Client: Alameda County Water District
Challenge
Alameda County Water District needed a long-term funding strategy to advance multiple fish passage improvements while coordinating several state and federal funding programs.
Our Role
West Yost developed the funding strategy, identified funding opportunities, monitored grant programs, coordinated planning requirements, and prepared multiple state and federal grant applications.
Results
- More than $18.2 million secured for the Lower Alameda Creek Fish Passage Program.
- Funding awarded through six major state and federal grant programs.
- Helped restore threatened steelhead habitat while protecting groundwater recharge that supports the District’s water supply.
Long-Term Impact
Between 2016 and 2025, West Yost helped Alameda County Water District secure more than $39 million in grant funding, generating an estimated $50.70 in funding for every $1 invested, a 4,970% return on investment.
City of Davis Resilience Funding Strategy
Challenge
The City sought to improve resilience at critical facilities while identifying funding opportunities to offset implementation costs.
Our Role
West Yost evaluated distributed energy resources, assessed funding opportunities, and prepared a funding strategy that aligned project recommendations with available grant and incentive programs.
