Linne Road Reservoir & Pump Station
City of Tracy, California
West Yost provided planning and design services for the Linne Road Reservoir and Pump Station project. The project consists of the construction of a 7.2 MG, buried, prestressed concrete reservoir, a 21 mgd booster pump station, and installation of approximately two miles of 24-inch transmission main. The facilities are located within a park site adjacent to a baseball field.
The tank is buried and covered with tennis courts. West Yost’s services included preparation of a feasibility report that evaluated alternative site configurations, hydraulic modeling, design, and services during construction.
The water storage facilities are a critical component of the City’s planned water system expansion in conjunction with the South San Joaquin Irrigation District water supply project (South County Project). The storage reservoir provides two functions: 1) serves as a terminal reservoir for the South County Project water deliveries; and 2) serves as operational storage to meet peak hour, fire flow, and emergency water demands in Pressure Zones 1 and 2.
The pump station design consists of four 200-hp vertical turbine pumps equipped with variable-frequency drives. Standby power for the pump station is supplied by an 800 kW diesel-driven standby generator. Sodium hypochlorite feed facilities are provided in a separate room within the support building.
