New Municipal Well and Well Rehabilitation
City of Modesto, California

West Yost provided design and construction of new municipal wells and evaluation and potential rehabilitation of three wells known to have impaired water quality. Each of the six municipal well capital improvement projects was constrained by the minimum well yield needed to meet system supply and pressure requirements, California Division of Drinking Water (DDW) water quality requirements for public drinking water supply sources, and cost. West Yost assisted the City in evaluating each project using a five step process that included: establishing yield requirements and water quality guidelines; developing downhole sampling and analysis; conducting downhole flow measurements and water quality sampling; evaluating alternatives with respect to yield requirements and water quality guidelines; and preparing a Preliminary Design Report (PDR).
