Good Times, Good Friends

West Yost takes time and uses resources to celebrate our corporate accomplishments, recognize individual achievements, and to get to know each other and our family members outside of the office setting.

Family Outings: Each year, West Yost invites everyone from each of our offices, and their family members to a company outing. Traditionally, we have had a 2-day outing at Camp Sacramento, located in the El Dorado National Forest, just 17 miles from Lake Tahoe. We have also taken staff and their families to baseball games, picnics, and rafting on the American River.

Duck Dinner a Taste of Our History: Founders Bruce West and Jim Yost are avid game hunters and the Duck Dinner gives staff a chance to “taste” the results of their hunting efforts. The Annual Duck Dinner is an eagerly anticipated event each year. West Yost reserves an entire restaurant and our staff and their guests enjoy each others company and scrumptious dishes prepared with duck, goose, dove, wild pig and venison, as well as a variety of vegetarian and non-game dishes.

Duck Bucks Make a Splash in the Perks Pond: Developed at the staff level, the Duck Bucks program lets every employee use their yearly allotment of “Duck Bucks” to thank others for extra effort, a job well done, or going above and beyond. Each Duck Buck can be redeemed for gift cards to local stores.

Food, Fun and Friends: Combining food, fun and friends allows employees to make connections that transcend the professional work environment. Other fun things we do include (but are not limited to):

  • Annual Chili Cook-Off
  • Spring “Eating of the Greens” Salad Bar
  • Support Staff Appreciation Luncheon
  • Monthly Birthday Celebrations (Cake Day!)
  • Engineers Week Celebration
