West Yost staff are moderating and presenting at a CWEA Annual Confernece Workshop, Tuesday, April 29, 2014, from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Program Overview: Asset management is more than just a buzzword. Learn how applying asset management techniques in your system (anywhere from small projects to complete system-wide programs) can lower your risk of SSOs, regulatory issues, thirdparty lawsuits, etc. This workshop is geared towards engineering and public works professionals responsible for managing wastewater collection systems. Hear about what other collection system agencies are doing and what they’ve learned on their journeys. Topics will include the following:

  • Linear asset (pipelines) management techniques
  • Fixed asset (pump stations) management techniques
  • Capabilities and limitations of software tools
  • Existing small agency programs
  • Existing medium agency programs and how municipal programs (with water, sewer, storm drain, paving, etc.) overlap
  • Existing large agency programs
  • How to apply asset management concepts to individual projects
