Unidirectional flushing programs allow agencies to improve water quality and manage water distribution system assets more effectively than traditional flushing and implementing a pilot program is a great place to start. Groundwater Resources Association (GRA) is holding it’s 23rd Annual Conference and Meeting with a focus on 2014, a landmark year in California’s water history due to the Legislature’s recent passage of landmark bills designed to initiate a process to improve groundwater management in the state. West Yost, as a participant in the Calibration and Model Application for Developing Conjunctive Use Framework in an Aquifer-Floodplain Recharge Operation in Yolo County is a collaborator on an upcoming presentation at the California Water & Environmental Modeling Forum’s 2014 Annual Meeting, February 24 – 26, in Folsom, California.
On August 14, 2013, in Oxnard, California, Chris Petersen will present at the ACWA Regulatory Summit. His presentation addresses the State Water Resources Control Board’s 2012 adoption of the general waste discharge requirements allowing water agencies to develop ASR projects that recharge groundwater with treated drinking water. Presentation topics included addressing questions such as: is the new State Water Board permit being used and is it effective and how can your agency develop an effective ASR project to meet water supply needs?
Continuing in our leadership role in wastewater planning, design, and construction management, West Yost staff will be giving eight presentations at the CWEA 2012 Annual Conference in Sacramento, April 17-20.
