West Yost in Top 15 Nationwide – CE News’ “Best Engineering Firms to Work For” List

On September 30, 2011 Zweig White, publisher of CE News, selected West Yost Associates (West Yost) for their annual nationwide list of “Best Engineering Firms to Work For.” With more than 49 firms in the running for 2011, West Yost is ranked number 13 among civil engineering firms of all sizes. West Yost is proud to be selected for this exclusive list for the seventh consecutive year.

Selection criteria for the award included firm culture, benefits, performance/recognition, compensation, professional development, and recruiting/retention. Results were based on a questionnaire and a required employee satisfaction survey. Almost 89 percent of our employees said they believe West Yost is one of the best firms in our industry to work for and just under 92 percent would recommend West Yost to a friend looking for a new job. When surveyed on the firm’s culture or personality, our employees noted our client-focused, team‑oriented approach to business with an emphasis on integrity while maintaining a flexible and collaborative atmosphere in their top responses.

West Yost Selected for Work Place Excellence

In April, 2011, the Sacramento Area Human Resource Association (SAHRA) and the Sacramento Bee selected West Yost Associates (West Yost) as the runner-up for the 2011 Sacramento Workplace Excellence Leader (SWEL) Award, in the for-profit, small company category. More than 70 companies competed in this year’s SWEL awards, representing companies of all types throughout the greater Sacramento area.

In 2007, more than 95 companies were nominated for this award, and West Yost won in the small, for-profit, category. Since firms are not eligible to compete two years after winning, 2011 was our first opportunity to be honored again through this unique recognition program.
